HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE (TEMPORARY PART-TIME)
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs administrative and clerical work in the Human Resources department and other various departments within the Administration Division as needed. Does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.
TYPICAL TASKS:
Provides support to the Human Resources Manager and Chief of Administration;
Assists with new employee recruiting process, prepares and distributes job vacancy notices and advertisements;
Conducts employment references for job applicants;
Assists with scheduling of pre-employment physicals and drug screens;
Prepares new hire packets;
Assists with new employee orientations and prepares employee ID cards;
Prepares follow-up letters for all applicants;
Assists with the scheduling of DOT random pool and medical certifications and managing associated files;
Assists with the scheduling of required vaccinations of employees;
Prints and binds employee handbooks, DOT handbooks or other documents/manuals as needed;
Assists with filing and maintaining records for various HR related programs;
Compiles, assembles and distributes monthly employee newsletters and correspondence;
Assists with the administration of the birthday gift card program;
Assists with internal and external interviews as requested;
Assists with the wellness benefit program;
Assembles employee packets for open enrollment and assists with open enrollment as needed;
Assists with annual blood drive, flu vaccine clinic, United Way campaign, and morale surveys as required;
Assists Administration Department with employee appreciation events;
Assists with retirement celebrations as needed;
Assists other departments within the Administration Division as needed;
Works varying shifts and at times alone due to the demands of the department to include before and after normal business hours;
Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, standard office procedures, practices and equipment; skilled in the use of a variety of office machines; ability to work independently; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures; ability to multi-task; ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, customers and general public; ability to keep information strictly confidential and conduct activities with upmost professionalism; ability to stand and walk and to sit for extended periods of time, lift and carry up to 30 lbs., reach, bend, squat, kneel, climb, pull, and other varying physical requirements; and ability to operate a vehicle.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in Business or related field.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid driver’s license according to state of residence.
THIS POSITION IS OPEN IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT. HOURLY RATE RANGE IS $15.59 - $32.40. POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
